Participants must be certified divers to take this trip. If you are not certified you must book the Discover Scuba diving program

Sail Rock is considered a world class dive site and is the closest dive site to Koh Samui. Your day will start with us picking you up at your hotel approximately 7:00 am. We will take you to the pier where you can enjoy some light breakfast and coffee/tea and meet Discovery Divers Team.

The boat will leave the pier at 8:00 am, it takes approximately 50 minutes to reach this outstanding dive site. Amazing big school of fish, as well as some of the most spectacular underwater scenery.

with regular Whale sharks sightings, but not guaranteed.

It is also a great option if you wish to be back relatively early as we normally return back to the pier at Koh Samui about 14:00.

Zoe and the team were amazing! I dove three days and saw 6 different sites. Good quality equipment, professional logistical operation, delicious lunch, and great people offering an amazing dive experience.

Perfect day under the water

We had a vacation in Thailand in February/March 2022. Few days before our departure I decided to take a tour with Discovery Divers. They managed to add me and my girlfriend to a group of licensed divers but as non-licensed ones we had our own instructor and did the dive on our own with him. Pierre was super helpful, especially when my girlfriend had a small problem with ears in the beginning of the dive. Unfortunately she was not able to do the second one but the captain gave her snorkeling set and show her nice location where she could observe underwater life.

For me both dives were incredible, Pierre gives you all the information and support you need. Lots of fishes around the Sail Rock, visibility was about 10metres. There is a quick lunch between dives (chicken, rice and vegetable) and all the time there are cold soft drinks available on the boat. The sea was rather calm on that day so I cannot complain about some troubles with speedboat. Ride was pretty calm and very fast.

If we come back to the island one day, I will definitely make a diving license with Discovery Divers. Super friendly, very funny and nice guys!

Possibly the best experience I’ve had with a dive shop, ever. Extremely pleasant, responsive and straightforward from start to finish. Eric gave me great advice about dive site selection based on my ability/conditions. Zoey was an amazing divemaster, can’t say enough about her— gave me great tips for my underwater footage and really knows the dive sites well. Sail rock is the site that made me fall in love with diving 8 years ago! Great to be back— just an amazing spot full of life

Mixed crew of diving ability/experience on the boat but very safe instructor:diver ratios, excellent briefings. Everything very by the book but fun and light attitudes, standard pricing

When you take your teenage children on a dive trip, this is the people you want to dive with.
The Boats are greate, the gear is all functioning very well but the Crew is fantastic. We had Samira as our guide on the Sail Rock - PERFECT.

Best Dive center in Koh Samui!

It was incredible dive experience ever with Discovery Dive Center. They all are 5* service, equipment, staff. We were dive with Dion (Dive instructor) He was very nice, friendly and easy going. He took care us very well since starting the trip until finish the dive. He took us to see small seas life that I never see before.

I would really recommended for this dive center if you are come to Koh Samui, Please don't miss the good experience under the water. It will be fulfill your travel trip!

Sail Rock Overhyped

I’m an experienced diver with over 50 dives in Mexico, Maui, Kauai, and the Bahamas. Sail Rock is pretty average. I read it was “world class”. That is nothing but hype. The rock itself is pretty small and on the day we went, there were no less than 5 other full dive boats at the site, so it was crowded. The hour long boat ride to the rock was very bumpy and half of the people on our boat got sea sick. The water was rough with 3-5 foot swells. When I asked if this was normal, our DM said it was pretty normal and that Sail Rock was not her favorite dive site. So much for world class. With regard to Discovery Divers specifically they were pretty disorganized. Everything seemed chaotic. I typically bring my own regulator, but didn’t want to lug it around Thailand, so I used theirs. It was missing the teeth knobs on the mouthpiece. Shame on me for not noticing; but shame on them for giving it to me. We were planning to dive 2 days, but decided not to use Discovery again. Easily one of the ten least enjoyable dives I have ever done.
