This was an excellent half-day experience. All staff were friendly. We were greeted with a guava drink or water. Our guide, Pat, gave us the full history of the sanctuary and an insight into all of the elephants they had rescued.
We not only fed the elephants but made up their special diet, rolled up into “protein balls!’
We were taken to several places where the elephants hang out and finally, got to go into a fresh-water pool, to help scrub and douce 2 of the elephants in water. Showers are available and valuables are safe with the rangers at all times. Don’t forget to make a donation (something which they do not push on you) when you leave as I’m not sure how much of the money we paid actually went to the sanctuary, considering the transport costs from the hotel and back. Our session ended with a lovely lunch and a drink.

This is an amazingly dedicated facility that values public visits for the purpose of learning and loving elephants as they do. You must include this interactive visit in your Koh Samui visit!
An afternoon with the elephants

Today we had the most amazing afternoon with the elephants and their carers. Learning about the elephants we were able to prepare their food, feed them, watch them In their natural surroundings, watch them in the mud then wash them. The staff were very informative and friendly and they provided plenty of water and refreshments throughout. The facilities are clean and new and they have shower facilities for after you wash the elephants - don’t forget to bring a towel! After showering, we were treated to a “light meal” which was tasty and filling of sandwiches, spring rolls, fried rice and fruit. An amazing way to finish off this experience.
This has been an unforgettable experience and a highlight of our trip!

This elephant sanctuary experience was awesome!! The event was very well organized beginning at the time of booking throughout the course of the day’s events, very clearly communicated by the staff, and made personable by our sanctuary guide. The thoughtful care, ethical treatment, and genuine love all the handlers have for the elephants (and tour guests!) showed through in the experience and their descriptions of how the sanctuary operates. I would recommend the Elephant Nature Care experience at the Samui Elephant Home to everyone visiting Koh Samui!!

Loved this experience! This elephant experience is one of the best we have been to. The staff care for the elephants so well. They even made a great video to remember the experience by and emailed it out to everyone! If you are in Koh Samui you have to go to this elephant sanctuary.
Our Gentle Giants

This tour is a must when in Koh Samui. We learnt a lot about Asian Elephants and how they have been mistreated. Foundations such as "Samui Elephant Home" do a great job in making sure these gentle giants live a lot longer for our children and children's children and more. Thank you Pat and team for a wonderful experience.
