What To Expect
Bluestars Kayaking
Witness the magnificent beauty of Angthong Marine Park with a one-day tour to the island treasures in the Gulf of Thailand. The Blue Star boat crew will take you on a sea kayaking adventure through small caves, lakes and to palm-fringed beaches at Koh Mae Ko.
Explore the breathtaking beauty of Angthong Marine Park on an awesome day-tour on board the fully equipped Blue Stars boat with comfortable seating, large sundeck, toilet and shower. You will experience caves and tunnels by kayak and snorkel the underwater world in these stunning islands which inspired the book and screenplay 'The Beach'.
Your tour guide will give you an introduction on how to manoeuvre your 'Ocean Kayaks'. The kayaking session starts at the southern end of the island Koh Mae Koh, eventually reaching the sandy shores of the island. Once ashore, the sightseeing part of the adventure begins with a hike to the Emerald Lake, a hidden saltwater in the middle of the island.
Back to the boat it is time for lunch, with a delicious buffet selection of Thai dishes and salad. As you enjoy your meal, the boat will take you through the gorgeous scenery from Koh Mae Koh to the northern end of the Marine Park, with Koh Tai Plao as the final destination. The English and German speaking tour guides will take you through natural tunnels, amazing caves and along beautiful rock formations. Last but not least, you have the chance to experience the colourful underwater world by snorkelling around Ko Tai Plao!
While enjoying the various activities on the tour, you might spot dolphin pods and monkey troops on the islands. Aside from the scheduled activities, you will have a plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery or waters around the boat. Blue Stars is using a big boat not a speedboat, as the sea kayaks are stored on the boat, which allows flexibility to kayak at different locations.

I came as a solo everyone came as a couple so they had given me my own kayak it was a but challenging as everyone had 4 arms rowing and i had just 2 lol but it was a good workout and very amazing start to finish.. the tour guide was amazing he was Dutch i think but he called us out in different groups and translated in both dutch and english it was honestly amazing would definitely recommend!
On boarding, there was fresh fruit and croissants. We later saw a large roach on a croissant. So beware. We made three stops. At the first stop, we kayaked for 40 minutes, then swam/snorkeled for 40 minutes. It was very pretty. There was hot food (curry/rice/veggies) waiting for us when we got back on the boat. Then we went to another island where we climbed very steep stairs to see a beautiful view of a blue/green water hole. Then we went to a third island with a beach. We were originally told we could kayak there too, but then the operator said there was a change in government regulations, so we couldn’t kayak. We hung there for about 80 minutes. There were places to buy snacks/non-alcoholic drinks/small souvenirs at the last two stops. Overall, it was fun. It was no where near luxurious, but I think we got what we paid for.
